The Role of A Support Diver
Scuba diving is a team sport, and the Adaptive Support Diver course is all about strengthening that team. If you want to be a better buddy to someone with physical or mental challenges, this course provides the practical training and sensitivity awareness you need.
While the Adaptive Techniques course is often for pros, the Support Diver rating is for everyone. At H2O Dive Center, we’ll teach you how to maintain safe buddy contact, manage gear for others, and recognize the specific needs of your adaptive dive partner.

Your Training Path

Theory & Awareness
Develop an understanding of various disabilities and how they impact a diver. Learn the ethical guidelines of providing support without taking away independence.

Practical Support Dives
Perform ocean or pool dives where you act as the primary support. You will practice real-world scenarios in assisting with gear, buoyancy, and navigation.
3
Advanced Navigation & Entry
Practice using reels and lines for limited penetration (where safe) and master the art of perfect buoyancy near metal structures.
